HALLE/SAALE - RENOVATION

Location

he wall between former East- and West-Germany fell in 1989. The reunification of the two countries was soon decided. Since that time a massive effort has been put on renovating the infrastructure, the economy and the cities. These two pictures are an artistic view of this renovation effort under way. On the left, two initially identical buildings, one renovated and the other one still waiting for the renovation. On the right the central tower of Halle, the so-called Red tower, hidden behind a torn-down building (the picture is true, although the view angle exaggerates the height of the foreground).
